Designed for you: customized geocomposites and geosynthetics

In addition to the basic range, in Sineco International we can design and produce to measure custom geocomposites and geosynthetics to meet the specific needs of each sector, from public and private construction to the creation of gardens and engineering works.

Customized geocomposites and geosynthetics: some case studies and solutions

Geocomposites, geosynthetics, grids, mats… Each product has a specific use and, often, to increase its effectiveness, specific combinations can also be foreseen. In Sineco International We are at your disposal: We support you in your choice, offering you bespoke solutions, designed for any need. Let's see some examples.

Improve garden and wall drainage

Problem : Rainwater that filters and circulates within the land adjacent to a retaining wall, or on an underground foundation, can accumulate close to these structures and, over time, cause them to collapse.

Solution: apply a draining geocomposite mat in the earth/wall cavity SINDRAIN, with a bubble or channel structure, combined with one or two geotextiles. In this way, excess water is captured and disposed of, avoiding damage to the structure.

Avoid humidity in a basement

Problem : Humidity can be a frequent problem for a basement space. This phenomenon is often caused by the seepage and stagnation of rainwater within the soil surrounding the building, or at the base of the growing medium used for a roof garden (which is usually created above the floor of the same space).

Solution: place a draining geocomposite mat SINDRAIN, with a bubble or channel structure, and one or two geotextiles, at the base of the 30-40 cm of soil of the hanging garden, or along the wall of the underground room (in direct contact with the ground). This ensures the capture and disposal of excess water, leaving both the slab and the wall always dry.

Preventing surface erosion on a slope

Problem : The mechanical action of atmospheric agents (including wind, rain, and hail) on a newly re-profiled slope—and awaiting revegetation—can cause portions of the soil to slide downward. The consequences? The formation of ruts and small landslides that prevent vegetation from uniformly covering the slope, increasing the risk of surface erosion.

Solution: use a three-dimensional geomat SINMAT, with a bubble structure – or pyramid – on the slope, covering it with cultivated soil. This option allows rainwater to soak the soil, hindering the mechanical action of various atmospheric agents. In this way, the formation of furrows is avoided, favoring the natural growth of vegetation.

Eliminate condensation under roofs and metal roofing

Problem : The lack of a cavity under a building's metal roof or roof tiles can cause water vapor from the warmer rooms below to form small droplets when it hits the cooler roof covering, falling onto the attic slab. This can create humidity problems in the rooms below.

Solution: Applying a three-dimensional pyramid-structured mesh for roof ventilation SINROOF and a breathable waterproof membrane under the roof tiles, or the covering. Ideal for ensuring proper ventilation.
